For bookkeepers and tax firms

Turn a shoebox client into a finished year, in your firm's name

A client hands you a year of statements. Upload them. Every statement is proved against its own printed balances, transfers between the client's accounts are matched, every transaction gets a first category, and the packet prints with your firm's name and logo on it. You review the judgment calls and bill the engagement; the mechanical hours are gone.

One account, every client

One sign-in holds every client’s packets. Find a client by name or by year on the packets page, open the packet, and the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss are there to check, in full, before anything is paid for. A packet is one business and one period of up to 12 months; another year of the same business is its own packet.

What it costs

$49.99 a packet for up to two accounts (bank, card, or loan), $15 for each account beyond that, and $15 to brand the packet as yours. Buy every year of a client at once and each extra year is $25 (plus $10 per account beyond two); a year bought on its own later is a full packet. No subscription and no minimum number of packets: you pay when you download a packet, and only then. Up to 60 statements are read free before purchase, which covers a four-account year, and up to 120 across everything you have not yet purchased; if your year needs more, purchase the packet and upload the rest.

A worked example. A sole proprietor with one checking account and one card: $64.99 to you, branded. You bill the write-up at your rate. Pricing in full.

What prints as the firm, and what never leaves the app

On a branded packet your firm’s name and logo stand where ours would: the mark on every page, the cover’s “Prepared by” line, the basis-of-preparation page, the Excel file’s About sheet, the PDF’s own document properties, and the email that delivers it, which comes to you, never to the client. The lender acknowledgement, when you print it, is still signed by the owner, with a “Prepared by” line naming the firm beside it. The client’s own logo does not print on a branded packet.

What stays Rekonix Lite: the sign-in, the receipts, and this site. There is no client-facing page in your name; the client sees what you send them from your own mailbox.

The “No assurance is provided” legend

A switch on your firm profile prints “No assurance is provided on these financial statements.” on every page, cover included. It is off unless you turn it on. A CPA firm will usually want it; a bookkeeping firm loses nothing by printing it. Either way the basis-of-preparation page says in plain words that the statements were prepared from the bank statements provided, on the cash basis, and that nothing was audited, reviewed, or compiled.

The question sheet, free and in your name

What a statement cannot answer, the owner can: which checks were for what, what went to accounts not in the packet, whether a deposit was a sale or the owner’s own money. “Questions for the business owner” is a one-page PDF of exactly those items for one packet, branded as the firm, at no charge; it is the sheet you send a client instead of a list in an email. It is linked from the Checks and Owners pages of every packet.

The purchases list, for rebilling

Every packet, added account, and branding charge you pay for is listed on your account page with its receipt, and downloads as one CSV, so you can bill clients from one sheet.

Three facts to repeat to a client

  • Files are kept a year, then deleted. A statement file is stored encrypted for 12 months so it can be read again as reading improves, then deleted automatically. It is read by a third-party document processor under commercial terms that prohibit training on its content. Your client can delete the files at any time, or keep them longer.
  • Transactions are stored in the United States, on Amazon Web Services; the subprocessors page names everyone who handles them.
  • Only the last four digits of an account number are saved, and that is how the accounts are named on the packet.

One sign-in per firm

An account is one email address and one sign-in: share it across the firm, or set a password on the account page so staff do not need the mailbox for the code. Packets are not shared between accounts, so keep every client under the one firm sign-in.

Start

Sign in with your firm’s email, set the firm’s name and logo once under Your firm on the account page, and every new packet is branded as the firm unless you turn it off on that packet. The sample below is a fictional studio with one checking account and two cards, rendered by the same code that produces a client’s packet.
