Sample packet
A sample Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss, as a packet is delivered
Harbor & Pine is a fictional design studio with one checking account and two cards. Its year went through the same steps as yours would, and this is what came out. The two statements are below; the PDF has all thirteen pages.
Sample figures for a fictional business.
What is on each page of the packet
Cover
The business name, the period, "Cash basis", the statement that nothing was audited, reviewed or compiled and no assurance is given, and an optional logo.
Profit and Loss
Revenue and expenses for the period by category, with net income. Optionally a month-by-month version with twelve columns, and an optional signature block.
Balance Sheet
Assets, liabilities and equity as of the last day of the period. Equity shows the opening balance, owner draws and contributions, and the year's net income.
Basis of preparation
How the statements were built: cash basis from the statements provided, what the Balance Sheet includes and leaves out, and that categories were proposed automatically and could be changed.
Proof page
For every account, each statement's beginning balance, activity and ending balance, and the check that they agree, so a reader can verify the packet against the statements.
Tax-line worksheet
Each category with the line it usually goes to on Schedule C, Form 1065, 1120-S or 1120, so a preparer starts from sorted figures.
1099 candidates
Payees paid at or over the year's federal filing threshold in ways that may need a Form 1099, with the amounts, for the preparer to confirm.
Transaction detail
Every transaction in the period, by account and date, with its category: the pages the statements above are built from.
Prepared on the cash basis from the statements provided; not audited, reviewed or compiled. See what cash basis means, or try it free with one of your own statements on the home page.
